Countrywide's list of Festival Essentials

Our list of Festival Essentials

Camping at a festival can be an exciting time, a time with friends and a time for music. Of course, the most important things to take to a festival are going to be a sleeping bag and tent, but what about the other equipment? Are you heading to Glastonbury 2014 or one of the many festivals on this summer? Then get why not get ready for the festival season this year with our festival essentials.

Wellingtons

Whether you call them wellies, wellingtons, gumboots or rain boots - they are the upmost essential to any festival goers list. Wellies can be outrageous colours, swirls and stripes or the traditional green boot. From unnamed brands to Joules, Hunter and Aigle – Make your wellies something to talk about.

Waterproofs

From waterproof coats, ponchos, macs and trousers, it’s important to keep yourself dry for long periods of time without a roof over your head. It’s a given that when you are away for a weekend camping that it will probably rain at some point. Make sure you don’t look like a drowned rat.

Camping chairs

Sitting in the mud is not the best way to spend your weekend so why not invest in a camping chair? Combined with a handy carry bag and drinks holder, these fold up chairs are an essential festival companion. Even if you don’t use them for sitting on because you’re up dancing they prove to be a great place to keep your belongings off the muddy ground.

Firewood & Kindling

A night camping will usually involve a campfire to keep yourselves warm in the evenings and what better way to prepare than with kindling and firewood? Bring your friends together around the fire with marshmallows, sing and chat to the early hours of the morning until the next day begins.

Wheelbarrow

Usually in the middle of a field, a festival can be miles away from public transport and even from the car park itself. It may sound like a strange product to bring with you to a festival, but a wheelbarrow can be a lifesaver to carry your tent and equipment. Brightly coloured wheelbarrows are available too, so why not buy one to suit your mood?

Other equipment

Although not essential, other equipment to consider can include toilet paper, cutlery, flasks, picnic rugs or even buckets to wash in. The possibilities are endless, and with the festival season fast approaching, make sure you’re ready.
